Arrived at my brothers place in South Hedland and camped for a week before heading off to put some fish in our freezer before heading off thru the desert on the Gary Junction Road to Alice Springs.
Several visit's to the local Mitre 11 salvaged a few useable items, and some that were returned when examined closely.
'Sheperd' loved his new 'DOG HOUSE', we in fact watched the trailer pass us at the white goods area over to the general rubbish area, just got there in time before the bull dozer buried it.
Our week in South Hedland with a full on workshop, got some repairs and maintance items done on the Van and vehicle. Plus a few kilograms of spoon sinkers.
Arrived at Titchila 3+ hours after departing Port Hedland, it's a slow track into the coast.
Massive tide changes here, in the region of 4 - 6 mtrs
We set up camp down near the creek, as we have on a previous visit. How ever this time the sand flies drove us MAD! Even with the full annexe.
A fire had been thru the spinifex above the natural boat ramp, which made it very easy to relocate away from the 'SAND FLIES' and with magic view's.
3 hours we were relocated and all set up again.
Well worth the effort - NO SAND FLIES!!!
Best part of the day! At least our tinnie was still floating.
This guy got a hook in his flipper, took awhile to drag in to release him unharmed
Guess that's one way to ensure the tinnie will bounce out out of the trailer!
Camp site from below and above the boat ramp
One of the few fish we caught whilst here for 10 days. We later found out some one had netted the creek several weeks earlier, hence no fish!
Now how does this go together? My brother and his family came up to visit over the weekend.
Linden's camp. The was a road find. Some one lost it out of their trailer or ute.
Took BJ & Matthew for a cruise up the creek!
Real low tide, walk to the rock island out the front of the creek.
Good fishing in here on a rising or falling tide.
The local's rock mooring's - she'll be right! The prop was pritty well beat up also
High tide, getting ready to load the tinnie! Sure make it easy.
Opp's, gust of wind took the awaning up over the van whilst trying to pack it away. The rubber bushing's popped out of their bracket. A repair job done at Linden's work shop. Impact driver required to get the rusted bolts undone, once all apart relatively easy to get the bushings back into the brackets with the aid of a drive punch. Now installed with good quality headed gavanised bolts.
Leaving Titchilla.
Next adventure - Port Hedland to Alice Springs via the Gary Junction Road.
